Institute of Nutrition and Food Science Alumni Association (INFSAA)
INFSAA (Institute of Nutrition and Food Science Alumni Association) is a non-political, non-aligned voluntary organization formed by alumni and faculty of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, University of Dhaka. Established in 2012, INFSAA aims to foster strong social and professional connections between alumni and the institute through knowledge exchange, support for academic activities, and professional development.
Graduates of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science (Diploma, B.S., M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D.) are eligible to join INFSAA. Faculty members who have served the department for at least one year may also be considered for membership by special request.

INFSAA's key objectives include:
1. Strengthening professional and social ties between alumni and the institute.
2. Supporting the institute’s academic initiatives by raising funds for research, providing financial aid to students, and offering research grants.
3. Organizing seminars, conferences, and training programs for alumni and current faculty.

INFSAA is governed by the General Assembly (GA), which includes all alumni with valid memberships. The association is managed by an Executive Committee (EC), which includes positions such as President, Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, and others. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Dhaka serves as the Chief Patron, and the Director of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science is the Patron.
The Executive Committee holds quarterly meetings each year. These meetings may be conducted online or in person, with at least one physical meeting taking place annually. Alumni members and other guests are invited to attend these meetings.
The Executive Committee is elected by the general members of INFSAA. Members are nominated and seconded by their peers, and the election is conducted through either ballot paper or an electronic voting system. An election commission is formed to oversee the process.

Yes, amendments to the constitution can be proposed by at least one-third of the members. For an amendment to pass, it requires a two-thirds majority vote during a General Assembly meeting.
INFSAA can only be dissolved through a two-thirds majority vote by the General Assembly, and the proposal for dissolution must be included in the meeting agenda.
