Approval Process

After submitting your application, you will be provisionally enrolled with limited membership access while an admin approve your INFS affiliation. Please allow up to two business days for this verification process. We will contact you once the review is complete.

By using any Institute of Nutrition and Food Science Alumni Association (INFSAA) websites, which include but are not limited to the main INFSAA website, event microsites, alumni directories, and official INFSAA social media pages (henceforth collectively referred to as the "Digital Platforms"), you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions ("Terms of Use"). This agreement is personal to you; it cannot be assigned or transferred. If any provision of this agreement is invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

1. Your Acceptance
By using and/or visiting any of the INFSAA Digital Platforms, you signify your agreement to:

The INFSAA Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference.
If you do not agree to any of these terms, or the privacy policy, please do not use these Digital Platforms. Nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to confer any third-party rights or benefits.

2. Digital Platforms
These Terms of Use apply to all users of the Digital Platforms, including users who are contributors of content and other materials or services. The term Digital Platforms shall be understood to include all aspects and services, including but not limited to all products, software, and services offered via any website such as blogs, groups, directories, discussion boards, messaging, social and professional networking, photo and video uploading, commenting, mailing lists, and other applications.

The Digital Platforms electronically publish news and information that may include facts, views, opinions, and recommendations of individuals and organizations deemed of interest to alumni. INFSAA does not review, monitor, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of or otherwise endorse information provided by any organization or individual, give advice, or advocate the purchase or sale of any product or service not directly offered by INFSAA or the University of Dhaka.

The Digital Platforms may include unmoderated forums containing the personal opinions and other expressions of the persons who post entries. The text and other materials on these Platforms are the opinion of the specific author and are not statements of advice, opinion, or information of INFSAA or the University of Dhaka.

The Digital Platforms may contain links to third-party websites. INFSAA has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. By using the Digital Platforms, you expressly release INFSAA and the University of Dhaka from any and all liability arising from your use of any third-party website.

3. Your Account
In order to access features like the alumni directory, you must create an INFSAA account. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Use. You may never use another's account. Your account may not be shared, transferred, or sold. You are solely responsible for the activity that occurs on your account and must keep your password secure. You must notify INFSAA immediately of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

Additional User Restrictions:
Users who sign up for accounts acknowledge that they are alumni or current students of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, University of Dhaka. "Alumnus/a" is defined as a person who has graduated from a degree program at the Institute. Current students will also be granted access, but if they leave without graduating, their access may be revoked.

You agree to use content restricted to alumni for your personal use only and not to provide access, in any format, to anyone who is not a verified alumnus/a or student of the Institute.

4. Rules for Online Conduct
You agree to use any INFSAA Digital Platform respectfully and appropriately. Communications that defame or threaten others or are bigoted, hateful, or racially offensive are not acceptable.

Prohibited conduct includes:

Posting content that defames, abuses, harasses, or threatens others.

Posting bigoted, hateful, racially, or sexually offensive material.

Posting content that advocates illegal activity or violates Bangladeshi law.

Posting content that infringes another's intellectual property (copyrights, trademarks).

Posting material that contains obscene language or images.

Posting spam or any form of unauthorized commercial solicitation.

Posting political ads or solicitation of support for political candidates or parties.

Posting information known to be factually erroneous or misleading.

Misrepresenting your identity or attempting to access another user’s account.

INFSAA reserves the right to remove any content that violates these rules and to warn, suspend, or ban any person from access for violations.

5. Disclaimer of Warranty / Limitation of Liability
INFSAA does not warrant that the Digital Platforms will operate uninterrupted or error-free, or that they are free of viruses or other harmful components. Use of information obtained from or through these Platforms is at your own risk.

YOU AGREE THAT INFSAA AND THE UNIVERSITY OF DHAKA WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OF USE, YOUR USE OF THE DIGITAL PLATFORMS, OR YOUR RELIANCE UPON INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM OR THROUGH THEM.

6. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

7. Modifications to Terms
INFSAA may, in its sole discretion, modify or revise these Terms of Use at any time. Notice of any changes will be made by posting the updated Terms on the Digital Platforms. By continuing to use the Platforms after any change, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

9. Intellectual Property
The INFSAA logo, name, and all graphics on the Digital Platforms are trademarks of INFSAA. Use, reproduction, copying, or redistribution of these trademarks without written permission is prohibited.

10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless INFSAA, the University of Dhaka, and their officers, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, or damages, including legal fees, resulting from your violation of these Terms of Use.

INFSAA Privacy Policy Summary (For Incorporation by Reference)
Data We Collect: We collect information you provide (name, contact details, degree, batch year) to create and manage your alumni profile.

How We Use It: Your information is used to provide alumni services, facilitate networking, communicate news and events, and for institutional reporting. Your contact details are never sold to third parties.

Directory Information: Your basic profile (Name, Batch, Degree) is visible to other logged-in alumni to foster networking. You can control the visibility of your contact information in your account settings.

Data Security: We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information.

Your Rights: You can access, update, or request deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the email address above.

By using the INFSAA Digital Platforms, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Use
